Featured Listing: 1402 Woodrow

home listed for sale in downtown columbia area
does anyone else just love the whole look of the stairs up from the neighborhood sidewalk or is that just me??

Downtown Columbia is, for a number of reasons, an awesome place to live. For one, you’re super close to all the cool things to do and places to go, you don’t have to wake up as early to make it to the early Saturday morning Soda City vegetable line rush (perhaps reason enough), and plus it’s just a super cool place to be. If you’ve been looking for a great place to be downtown, we just picked up a listing that you need to check out!

second floor owner suite, known also as your private oasis

1402 Woodrow has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, with two of each being downstairs and the owner suite functioning as the newer second floor. The home itself is a vintage classic Columbia style, complete with transom windows (aesthetic, anyone?), gorgeous hardwood floors, and an original wood-burning fireplace I’d love to have myself if it weren’t for my smoke-phobic dachshund.  The second floor was added later, so it has a bit more of a modern touch, with his and her closets and more than enough room for a sitting area inside your absolutely gigantic owner suite. It also has its own private bathroom upstairs, which is a super nice addition for those of us who wouldn’t want to scramble downstairs in the middle of the night. So, like, everyone.

my teapot collection would look *amazing* on that built-in shelf, and so would yours!

Before you even get so far as upstairs, though, you have to make it through the downstairs, which is cute as a button! Walking into the living area after coming up the sidewalk, you have the choice of heading into the office-slash-storage-area to your right, through the double-door glass beauty into the dining room, up the right to that owner suite from earlier, or back left towards the other two bedrooms. Functioning as the hub of the home, the living area has the appropriate warmth and brightness it needs, with large windows allowing in tons of natural light and giving you a look out to your front yard. Also, I really am just a sucker for the transom window look, not to mention that it allows all that gorgeous natural light to get all through the home!

not pictured: your crazy awesome dinner parties

The kitchen has a super cool passthrough to the dining room, which would be super convenient for every day use, let alone when you’re trying to entertain and get all those yummy dishes out to the hungry masses. It’s got bucket loads of storage for all your instant pots and blenders and pans and the like, plus a pantry for all the stuff to go in those things. The cabinetry is painted a nice bright white, so the already sunlit room feels amazingly bright and inviting, which is a good thing for a room in the house that you’re going to be spending a lot of time in. Also, more of those hardwood floors that are the coolest thing ever.

what do people even do with patios this big? host a state fair for cute cats?

If you can manage to make it out of the home for how awesome it is, you might find yourself not wanting to go back in! This home has a driveway to the back with a two-car carport, which is super convenient since a lot of homes in the downtown area don’t have that, let alone a garage. But even better than that, the backyard is HUGE, with a nice wooden privacy fence to keep your backyard feeling private, a huge patio perfect for grilling and tables and whatever else it is you cool kids put in your backyard, and a storage shed that could function as another room, considering its size. The whole yard has a nice natural feel to it as well, with plenty of trees and greenery to entice your eyes but also plenty of space to put a garden of your own, if that’s what you’re into.

So basically, this home is awesome, the backyard is awesome, and the location near downtown Columbia is awesome. If you’d like to see some more pictures, or better yet, schedule your chance to get inside, click here to check it out on our website, or just let us know and we’ll make it happen! There’s also all other homes for sale in Columbia there, so even if this one doesn’t seem quite right, let us know and we’ll find the one that makes you feel like you’re coming home!
